Asbestech Awarded Renewed Three Year License

In March 2009, Asbestech hosted a visit from Mike Williams, the Principal Inspector for Asbestos License Renewal for the Health and Safety Executive. The outcome of this visit was that Asbestech were awarded with a 3 year renewal of our Asbestos License with no clauses or conditions attached.

Mike spent a great deal of time rigorously checking Asbestech’s compliance with all the relevant Governmental legislation and HSE guidance, such as The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and The HSE Guidance Notes as well as our own Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures.

As part of this audit, Mike spent some considerable time going through live jobs in great detail with our Contracts Managers and Operations Director, and also spent some time talking with our Managing Director, Daniel Chalkley.

Daniel reports, “We are delighted - but not surprised - by the decision of the Health and Safety Executive to award Asbestech Ltd with a three year unconditional renewal of our license. At a time when some in our industry are losing their licenses or having onerous conditions imposed upon it this shows how our dedication to doing the job to the highest standards while avoiding cutting any corners pays dividends. It is my firm belief that even while the recession is biting deeply there is no excuse for cost cutting regarding Health and Safety.”

He continued, “We have a great team here, and the whole business is driven by their application of a solid set of values. It would only take one member of our team to start cutting corners in an effort to save money to cost us our good name and impact upon our license. As we have put our team together we have made sure that we all have the same fundamental philosophy so that Safety; Quality and Performance is at the heart of everything that we do.”
