Asbestech is deeply committed to promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive community both within our organisation and in the wider communities we serve. Mental Health Awareness Week, running from 12th to 18th May, provides an excellent opportunity to reinforce our dedication to these values. This year’s theme, “Community,” underscores the significance of strong, supportive connections, which are crucial for mental wellbeing.
At Asbestech, we understand that a sense of community at work is vital for mental health. We actively cultivate this through regular communication and gatherings, both virtually and in person, recognising the profound benefits of physical interaction. Our commitment to mental health is further demonstrated by our team of three Mental Health First Aiders and comprehensive Mental Health Awareness training for all staff, ensuring that support is readily available when needed.
Beyond our internal efforts, Asbestech is dedicated to fostering community connections through our support of local youth activities. By backing initiatives like the PRIDE Academy and the Sylvia Beaufoy Youth Centre, we aim to nurture teamwork, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging. These efforts not only strengthen our internal community but also contribute positively to the communities we serve, leaving a lasting impact.
Through these initiatives, Asbestech strives to build a resilient, empathetic, and connected workplace, while also making meaningful contributions to the broader community.
