Sainsburys Swindon

Asbestech was employed, after a careful tender and selection process, by Base Build Ltd to assist with the renovation of this operational town centre supermarket store. The project consisted of several elements, by far the largest of which was the safe removal of an AIB ceiling from the shop floor area under fully controlled conditions. This ceiling was removed according to a strict programme which was carefully planned in conjunction with our client to ensure that disruption to trading was avoided. All works were completed on night shifts, utilising 6 day working patterns to fit comply with restrictions put in place by the building owners. As each section was removed, black corex was used as a void seal to minimise the visual impact of our works until the ceiling fixers followed on.

The project was successfully completed in line with the programme and had no health, safety or environmental incidents. During the project, Asbestech’s site team won a commendation from our client after scoring 100% on a Sainsbury’s Safety, Health and Environmental Audit.
